We made it home!

We have been home from the hospital for a few days now. Eli has been doing well considering everything he has been through. There has definitely been a lot of learning and some struggles, but we are trying our best to live in the moment and appreciate every second we have together.

On Thursday, Eli got his stitches removed. They came out without too much issue, aside from some anxiety on Eli's part, but he pushed through it like the champ he is.

Eli has also been able to spend some time with family and friends he did not get to see while he was in the hospital, which he absolutely loves. There are still so many people he wants to see, and we have been trying to stay as busy as we can during our free time, just being present with him as much as possible.

Eli starts radiation on Monday, and we have been carrying a lot of anxiety leading up to it. If everything up to this point had gone as planned, he would already be halfway through radiation by now. That is a significant amount of time for someone in his situation, and it weighs on us every day.

His last MRI was almost a month ago and showed that his remaining tumors had grown 50% in just three weeks. We are praying they have not continued growing at that same rate. We keep fearing what the next day holds. We fear something else will go wrong and delay things further, or that he will start showing symptoms from his remaining tumors.

We keep praying that God allows us to get Eli the radiation he so desperately needs, and that nothing interrupts it. We are asking everyone to join us in that prayer. Pray for our family, and pray for Eli's little innocent mind. We cannot comprehend what is going on inside our baby's brain, but he is without a doubt the strongest person we have ever known.
